Website Photos-
Adding quality photos to your website tells a
story to your reader that content alone cannot cover. Adding photos
to a business website covers two important areas. Website photos of
your staff adds a personal touch to your online customers and gives
them a sense of confidence. Staff and storefront photos (if you also
have a concrete storefront) tell potential customers that you are a
professional and putting a face to your name lets them know you are
not a fly by night business or a scam. Quality photos of your
inventory allows potential customers to view an item from different
angles, allowing them to make an informed choice. Good photos of
your website stock can save you problems with dissatisfied customers
down the road. You want your online customers to have as much
information as they would if they were standing in your store. Make
it easy for potential customers to choose your online products by
providing the best pictures possible.
Website photos also add an aesthetic touch and will make
your website design pop. You need to inspire interest and curiosity
so that website visitors will want to click past your home page, and
browse your entire website. With digital cameras and smart phone it
is easier than ever to upload photos onto the web. Sometimes you may
need a stock photo or professional photograph and there's a variety
of websites that offer downloads. Our favorite website is
123RF Stock Photos. They offer thousands of photos and
illustrations at a reasonable price. In fact all the photos at
Website Creations came from 123RF Stock Photos
As
we talked about earlier, search engine robots read only plain text
and cannot see the photographs on your website. But you can help
them see the photo better by giving a meta tag description. Its
simple to do and the minute you spend doing it can really improve
your website traffic. start by adding your photo. We added
"Psychedelic Stipe" a Michael Arnold original painting. Next right
click on the photograph and click "picture properties". You will see
a dialog box that says: Alternative Text. Here you will write a
description of the picture. Pretend that Google is blind and you
have to describe what exactly the picture is. Only write a sentence,
make it as concise as possible. Under this line is another line that
says " long description". Here you will put the html link of the web
page the picture is on. This allows your picture to go into Google,
Bing, and other search engines under the Images option. To test how
well this works type "Michael Arnold Psychedelic Stipe" into Google
and choose images. You will see this photo come up and so will an
unlimited amount of potential buyers! When browsing the web, you can
also read this information by right clicking on a photo. Simply
choose view image info and it will tell you information about the
website photo or image. You can also add a hyperlink to your website
photo to send visitors to another web page.
One of the worse things people do on the internet is to copy am
image and then stick it on their website or blog. Not only are you
taking the image without the owner's permission, you are also
stealing their bandwidth. If you want
to borrow an image from someone you should email and ask permission,
and always right click on the photo to save and download it so you
are not wasting the users bandwidth. |
