your website to do well and get a lot of visitors, you want Google
to list your website as high as possible when people search. To
assist webmasters in creating quality websites Google has several
different free tools that can be very helpful in developing and
editing your website.

If you already completed a Sitemap for your website, then you will
want to submit that to

Webmaster Tools. Google Webmaster Tools is
a one-stop shop for webmaster resources that will help with your
crawling and indexing questions, introduce you to offerings that can
enhance and increase traffic to your site, and connect you with your
visitors. Using Google's webmaster tools will provides you with
detailed reports about your website's visibility on Google. To get
started, simply add and verify your website and you'll start to see
information right away. Sign in to your Google account or start one.
Then add your URL, at the top where it says "Add Site". They will
ask you to add a meta tag to you site to verify that you are the
owner, It may take a few days for the sitemap to be read and for
Google to start providing you with important information about your
website.
Using Google Webmaster tools can provide you with important
information. You can find out how Google crawls and indexes your
website, along with finding out if there are any specific problems
Google robots are having accessing your web pages. Use Google

when it spiders your website. The webmaster of the site can view,
classify, and download comprehensive data about internal and
external links to your website with new link reporting tools. Find
out which Google search queries drive traffic to your website, and
see exactly how users arrive there. One of the newest tools that
Google offers "Site Performance", an experimental feature in
Webmaster Tools that shows you information about the speed of your
site and suggestions for making it faster.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is the enterprise-class web analytics solution that
gives you rich insights into your website traffic and marketing
effectiveness. Powerful, flexible and easy-to-use features now let
you see and analyze your traffic data in an entirely new way. With
Google Analytics, you're more prepared to write better-targeted ads,
strengthen your marketing initiatives and create higher converting
websites. Google analytics approach is to show high level
dashboard-type data for the casual user, and more in-depth data
further into the report set. Through the use of GA analysis, poor
performing pages can be identified using techniques such as funnel
visualization, where visitors came from (referrers), how long they
stayed and their geographical position. It also provides more
advanced features, including custom visitor segmentation. Users can
officially add up to 50 site profiles. Each profile generally
corresponds to one website. It is limited to sites which have a
traffic of fewer than 5 million pageviews per month (roughly 2
pageviews per second), unless the site is linked to an
AdWords campaign.

web-based tool that lets web developers try out all of the APIs that
Google provides, tweak the code, and see the results. Google's Code
Playground works in your web browser, and although Google would
prefer that you use their own Chrome browser, it also works in MSIE,
Firefox and Opera. The Google Earth API is included, and there are a
myriad of functions you can play with, including the ability to
