Blogging is a great way to increase your website traffic.
Most blogging sites are free to join and by adding a few links to
and from your website, you can use a blog to help improve your
website traffic. Almost every major business online has a blogging
section, and that's because they know how much it can help support a
business. Blogs are a fast and easy way for you to share information
and allow reader feedback. Okay I have sold you on blogging, but now
you need to know what to blog about and how to get started.
Although you can set up an interactive area on your website, it is
much easier to just use a free blogging site like Blogger or
WordPress. Both sites are good quality and both are fairly easy to
use. WordPress may have a few more bells and whistles but Blogger is
simpler, not to mention they are owned by Google so you shouldn't
have too much of a wait getting indexed by Google. Once you have the
blog set up you need to add a link on the blog to your website and a
link on you website back to your blog.
Both WordPress and Blogger have plenty of theme options so you can
get the blog to compliment the theme of your website. But before you
just start writing off the top of your head you need to get an idea
of what the content theme is going to be. If you sell a product or
services, you may want to write tutorials on different topics in
your field. Consider blogging about hot topics in the occupation
your business is in.
Your blog can have plenty of visual content too. Maybe this is where
you have your YouTube how to videos. or some slideshows
getting details on how to assemble some of your more difficult
products. Don't forget to ask some open ended questions and promote
input from your blog readers. Encourage them to leave reviews
of products you sell or products in your field.
While you are trying to increase your website traffic, you can also
increase your revenue by adding some Google AdSense ads on the page.
Blogs have great spaces for you to fit in unobtrusive ads and
Blogger can help you add the ads in just a few clicks. Blogs
are also great places to add some of your favorite links to other
great sites.
If you are on Facebook, and you should be if you are trying to
improve your website traffic, you can link your blog to your
Facebook account so that every time you blog, it automatically
uploads a link and a preview to the blog on Facebook.
Blogs can be a great asset to any online business and are great if
you just want to share your thoughts. My father asked me to build
him a website, but since
he is unable to update and edit it, I connected his website to
a free blog. He is able to write a
Sunday school commentary
every week and share it with thousands of people across the globe. |
